BlackBeats.FM: Hallo Elise5000.

BlackBeats.FM: Deine Musikkarriere begann sehr früh.

Elise 5000: Ok, gut.

Elise 5000: Ich liebe Internetradios.

Elise 5000: Danke BlackBeats.FM. Ich liebe euch.

BlackBeats.FM: Hello Elise5000. Welcome to the interview with BlackBeats.FM: The biggest German Webradiostation in the BlackMusic Genre. How are you?

Elise 5000: I'm excellent...never better!

BlackBeats.FM: Not so long ago you have also made interviews with DJ UNK and Plies as you have worked at a Radiostation . But now you are the interviewee and im the interviewer. How does it feel for you?

Elise 5000: It feels great! I'm glad I can finally use these skills to talk about myself!!! lol

BlackBeats.FM: Your musiccareer began very early. At the age of 8 years you have written your first own song. And 3 years later you began recording and producing your songs on a keyboard. That was really brave for a little girl. Who has supported you and do you remember how your first musical talent was?

Elise 5000: Well I always knew that I would be a musician and entertainer. But, my parents didn't really believe me because as a child I wasn't a prodigy. I was shy and scared to perform on stage. I think that they believed that I was supposed to be some genius at an early age but I wasn't. To them I was an average kid. But I knew that I was different. At an early age people like my best friend's mother and music teachers would tell my parents of my musical abilities but they just sort of blew it off. I know that they just wanted me to be a normal kid. Later in the 6th grade I began playing the Clarinet and of course I had just started and the only note I could play was G and E and I don't know why they thought that I sucked but It was like my first week!!! I went on to become the first chair and could play all the scales in many different octaves! I would always write songs but again, my parents just thought I was a normal kid playing around! I could even play the clarinet and piano at the same time!!!! I told everybody that I was a musical genius in the 6th grade because of that!!! When I was about 8 my mother bought a keyboard and I really wanted to take piano lessons. During that time, I discovered that I could play chords and stuff. Again, since I wasn't playing like Beethoven my parents thought I sucked! Finally I began to take piano lessons and really enjoyed it but there was something missing because I felt like I wasn't expressing myself by learning other composers material! Guess I had an ego problem then or something!! Eventually I got bored with piano lessons and discontinued them. It was during that time at age 11-13 where I began composing my own material. Also, In high school I got bored with Clarinet and started playing snare drum (like for marching band)!!!! Again, the band teacher asked me (because I was a natural) If I had ever taken drum lessons. Of course I couldn't count all the table beating as REAL drum lessons so I told him "No" and he was amazed! Later around the age of 17 I took the next step into beat making, producing, and vocal arrangement! The point of me sharing all of this with you is that I want everyone to know that even though my parents didn't fully believe in my abilities, and even though I didn't atart off playing like Beethovin -- I felt a strong urge to compose. I knew that I could do it, I didn't listen to my parents even when they would give me the "be realistic" talk! I didn't listen because I knew that I could do it then, just as I know that I can do it now! Of course now my parents are totally DOWN for me so it's all good! They totally believe in me now! They see how far I've come! But they believe in me now because I proved to them that I'm not giving up, and I'm totally dedicated. Quitting was never an option for me!

BlackBeats.FM: By now there has been released a track from you where you sing together with T-Pain. The name of this song is "Everybody Else". How you came to this honour to work with such a famous singer like T-Pain?

Elise 5000: Well I just sort of came across the track with his vocals already on the beat and I took it from there!!! T-Pain is so wonderful and I'm just so glad that I was able to jump on that record!

BlackBeats.FM: Tell us why and when have you chose the pseudonym "Elise 5000". Is Elise your name and why 5000? What does this number means?

Elise 5000: Ok well my middle name is "Elisa" so of course you can understand where I get the "Elise" part from. The 5000 part was sort of random. I was listening to Tevin Campbell's "Goodbye" as I was trying to find a URL for myspace -- the exact date which appears on my myspace page October 10th 2007 I believe it is...So anyway, "Elise" as a URL was already taken. So I wan't thinking -- I just wanted to put something! I mean, seriously I have no idea why I put 5000. But the moment that I typed it in, Tevin Campbell said "Five thousand"!!! I mean seriously....Listen to the intro of that song!!!! So that's what I put! But later I was listening to a sermon on my ipod (something I downloaded off Itunes for free) and the Minister was speaking about Jesus from the Book of Mark. Basically he was talking about how Jesus was able to feed 5000 people off of 2 loaves of bread and 2 fishes (because of his perfect faith)!!! Kinda weird to me that it was "5000"! The kind of person I am, I did not think It was a coincidence. So now I have formulated my own meaning for my name and that is....God has given, and is giving me the ability to do things far beyond what is "normal". I mean, seriously.... Just a little over a year ago I ended up purchasing my own studio and have been recording, mixing and mastering my own material. It may not seem like a big deal because lots of other artists are doing this now, but to me this is a big deal because I have no idea how I pulled this off. I had no idea how to use Pro Tools but I promise to you I could do it as if some invisible force was in my room with me helping me out! I knew that I could do this deep down, but I know now that the only way that I did pull this off was through the power of God. People are always doubting themselves saying "I gotta get this song mixed....I gotta get this mastered.... I need this.....I need that...." My thing is that God has already given us the ablilty to do these things! So for me, the 5000 in my name means that I can accomplish the seemingly impossible and I want everybody in the world to know that they can too! That's my platform! That's my thing! That's the meaning of my name!

BlackBeats.FM: Dou you have in mind to work together with other singer? Maybe also with a female singer? Or are there any planning for the future?

Elise 5000: Well I'd really like to work with Cassie!!! I really like her! I would also love love love to work M. Jackson!!! Missy Elliot would be a dream to work with....The Dream seems cool! I don't know! I wanna work with everybody!!! Ooohhh I would also love to work with Memphis rapper Playa Fly!!!!!

BlackBeats.FM: How popular are you in the USA? Have you performed in the tv or for a big audience anywhere? And what does it mean for you to have a name in the MusicScene of Germany?

Elise 5000: In the USA I'm popular on blog sites!!! No I haven't performed in front of a large large large audience but I have done some TV in Atlanta. It would be a dream come true to gain popularity in Germany! My Mother grew up in Germany! My Grandfather was in the Army and so my Mom spent her early years there. 7 years I believe it was! So yeah, It's really important for me to do some things there! My family still has lots of friends that are German and so Germany is major for me!

BlackBeats.FM: What do you think about a cooperation with a Webradiostation, in this case with BlackBeats.FM. And do you like Webradios?

Elise 5000: I love webradios!!! There is so much variety! BlackBeats.FM is wonderful and I love all the people involved with them! I also want to take this time to thank the BlackBeats family for embracing me and my music! It really means a lot that I am able to share with Germany my music and my experiences and I hope that I have inspired at least one person to follow their dream!!!! Thank you BlackBeats.FM I love you!

BlackBeats.FM: Thank you for the interview and the time you have gave us. We wish you all the best. And now you have the final say.

Elise 5000: Thank you BlackBeats.FM. I love you.
